The Secretary of Innovation, Digital and Diaspora Communication in the Office of the President Dennis Itumbi has revealed that Deputy President prayed before the family of the late Sidney Mambala. The 7-year-old boy was hit by one of the cars on DP Ruto’s entourage.
According to Itumbi, DP Ruto’s gesture to pray before calling the family was not only sincere bu also touching.
“Dear boss William Ruto, The prayer you said as you called to confirm Sydney had passed on, the phone call to Mzee & sending senior staff to the household is not only sincere mourning, but connecting with a family that needs encouragement and God’s Strength at this moment .
Ruto confirmed on Saturday morning that he had spoken with the family of the deceased family and assured them of his help.
“I have spoken with Mzee to pass my consideration and assured the family of reference and support during this difficult time. May God rest young Sidney in eternal peace,” Ruto twitted.
Earlier on before the boy passed away, Ruto confirmed on Twitter that his office had taken the responsibility to ensure that the boy received proper treatment.
The accident happened when the Deputy President was travelling back from a development tour in Busia county.
