Supporters of Malindi Mp. Aisha Jumwa received her from Malindi International airport after the announcement of her being expelled from the ODM Party. She addressed her strong ground standings about the decision made by the party.
“If rules and regulations had been followed I would probably have relinquished my seat,( Kama sheria na taratibu zingefuatwa, mimi Aisha Jumwa labda ningekua nimesema nimesalimu amri”) This is what she had to say. She says that there will be no by-election done in the constituency as she was elected by the people and she will remain to be their representing Member of Parliament.
“Party NGC unanimously votes to expel Malindi MP Aisha Jumwa from the party. The meeting however deferred the decision to expel her Msambweni counterpart Suleiman Dori following his letter of apology to the SG Edwin Sifuna in which be apologised to the party for his rebellion.” This is what the ODM Party wrote on their official Twitter handle.
Malindi MP Aisha Jumwa was expelled from the ODM party for allegedly being disloyal to the party and working in hand with other rival parties. This comes after she had been noticeably being close to Dr. Deputy President William Ruto. She says that she was only close to the Deputy President for purpose of building bridges as their leader Hon. Raila Odinga encouraged with the Handshake coalition.
